(Doves are a symbol of love and courtship; that is why it was on the necklace.) Picking it up, he saw the engraving on the back. Though it seemed pretty old, he was able to make out what it said: Those who wear this will experience regret. "Oh, hell yeah," he said. Things that had a seemingly innocent image- this dove, for instance- and made it perverted with evil- like the glaring eye- often meant it was something that took advantage of human emotions. That made it very evil. He picked up the necklace and wore it. Nothing. He waited, and nothing came about. Taking it off, he set it down on the table. He looked for some sort of switch or click on it, but there was no mechanical changing action whatsoever. Finally, he tried wrapping it around the headstock of his mystic guitar. Giving it a strum, it just shot out a slowly moving cloud of reddish-black dust. Django yanked it off, starting to become annoyed. He put it back on the table, aimed his guitar at it, and fired a revealing shot. The shot bounced off the amulet and into his eyes. "What is this, Fuck With Me Day?" he shouted, backslapping the necklace off the table and into the garbage. |
